How this works
Standard IPv4 subnetting math: the subnet mask is derived from the prefix length, the network address is the IP ANDed with the mask, and the broadcast address is the network address with all host bits set to 1. Usable host range excludes the network and broadcast addresses (for prefixes /31 and /32, host count follows the special-case RFC 3021 / single-host conventions).
