I2C 7-bit / 8-bit Address Converter

Enter a 7-bit address to get the 8-bit write/read byte values, or vice versa.

How this works

Datasheets sometimes list the 7-bit address, and sometimes the 8-bit write address (7-bit address shifted left by 1, with R/W bit 0). This computes both directions: 8-bit write = (7-bit << 1), 8-bit read = (7-bit << 1) | 1. If your datasheet gives an 8-bit value, right-shift by 1 to get the 7-bit address most Linux/embedded I2C APIs expect.
